Bears convincing win… not convincing

November 2nd, 2009 | by BearsSTH |

Let’s face it – the loss to the Bengals was so humiliating that every Bears fan that called a sports radio show in Chicago vented their frustration and their complete lack of respect for the coaching staff, players and management. With the Browns coming into town, no matter how much the Bears beat the hapless Browns by, it wasn’t going to be good enough. Emotions were mixed about the Bears performance on Twitter:

ryandietz I’ll tell you what, the Bears should never have a three and out against the Browns.

scotttyrrell Bears may end up winning this and maybe by a lot, but right now they just look bad. No running game and no vertical passing.

peony0505 Bears Defense has definitely earned their respect back! Way to honor #WalterPayton!

franze98 Awesome int by manning, he’s such a playmaker. Horrendous play calling in red zone by Turner.

Despite the convincing win, many Bears fans are not convinced and nor should they be. The offense still played inconsistently and the offensive line didn’t protect Cutler well enough as Cutler was roughed up. Although the Bears rushed for 175 yards, nearly half of the yards came from Cutler, who was running for his life and Garret Wolfe, during garbage time.

Regardless, a win is a win and let’s hope the Bears can continue to improve. Here’s what Bears fans on Twitter are encouraged by or if they are:

cwsjd99 encouraged by Cutler check downs to Forte when WR weren’t there

alicraw Peanut and Danieal playing like a Bears Defense should! Having Hunter back.

Scott_Hauss Devin Hester is looking much more comfortable on punt returns and is emerging as a number 1 receiver.

Anna_n_Chicago Not really impressed nor am I optimistic about future games considering the Browns are a bad team, but I am hopeful

makbears I’m optimistic that the #bears may win one of their next 5 games …. Oh, wait …. That’s pessimism. Nevermind

MatthewMcGnarly Not 2 much 2 be optimistic about except Bears front office realizing how terrible Ron Turners play callin was at Game

Next week, the Cardinals come into town. They too are struggling but play well on the road. Let’s hope the Bears offense continues to progress and the defense can play like they did against the Browns.
