Purple People Eaters prey on the hapless Bears
November 29th, 2009 | by BearsSTH |The Bears lose another must win game. We’ve heard this all before. For the third time in the past six weeks, the Bears get destroyed by another team. What hurts most is that it was against a division rival. No one thought the Bears were going to win but at the very least, they could have put up a fight.

To put in perspective how terribly the Bears played, they ran 12 plays in the second half and gained 2 yards compared to the Vikings’ 225 yards in the second half. For the first time, in the team’s 89 year history, the Bears did not rush for a 1st down in a game. The previous low was back in 1933 when the Bears rushed for 2 first downs against the Packers. All 8 Bears first downs came in the second quarter when they gained 149 of their 169 total yards. In the first half, Brett Favre was 20 for 31, threw for 256 yards and 3 touchdowns.
There were plenty of great #4thPhase tweets today. Too bad it was about how bad the Bears played.
MatthewMcGnarly I’m refusing 2 wear or purchase any Chicago Bears memorabilia/paraphernalia indefinitely. We deserve better.
efgromen I had to turn off the TV. My eyes were bleeding from the sheer humiliation of this game.
BraxtonMedia We have gone from the Super Bowl to a 4-7 season with Rams, Pack and Vikings left. I like Lovie but it’s time for him to go.
franze98 Not sure if Lovie will have anything positive to talk about tomorrow. Maynard did have a couple good punts I guess.
matty5454 Really though what can you expect the Greatest Bear is out #54… Lovie is getting exposed without Urlacher.
Gsquare9 That’s game Bears fans. Still love my BEARS. No O Line. Next year guys.
pricedout This team and their stupidity are going to kill me.
hartzd Can’t get a break. This team is more upsetting than enjoyable to watch.
markski44 Cutler still has some work to do to reach George Blanda’s single season INT total of 42.
dereksemmler Zack Bowman couldn’t cover a bed if he was a sheet.
BrianBernardoni Da Bears introduced the Swiss Cheese “D” today. It has holes all over the place; bends where you push it and generally stinks.
